Choral websitesAn email a few days ago from Tom Lumb in New Zealand prompted a re-visit to online choral music sites. The amateur choral world online has grown astonishingly over the last few months, and it's now very easy to visit (and listen to) choirs from many countries. This week we're presenting sites about choral music, rather than choirs themselves, although choir websites are included here if they have something special to offer - many do. Copyright © 21 March 2000 Keith Bramich, Suckley, Worcestershire, UK ACDAThe American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) was founded in 1959 to promote excellence in choral music in American society. About 18,000 choral director members represent over a million choral singers across the United States. ACDA publish The Choral Journal, a national publication issued 10 times per year, containing scholarly and practical articles, and reviews of CDs, books and sheet music. British Choirs on the NetAll known British choral websites are listed here on a huge single page created by choral singer Rod Cuff. Follow the links at the bottom of the page for similar sites listing French, German and Italian choirs. There are also (near the top of the page) links to separate pages of music links - of interest especially for music resources in the UK - and for news items, workshops and 'scratch' performances, music for hire and benefits. Kor.dkKor.dk or Choir.net is Werner Knudsen's site dedicated to Danish and international choral music, and is yet another site that wants to be the site for choir-related information. Includes the Victor Borge tribute and 'Today's Nepotism' - daily featured Danish choirs. Some content is in Danish.
