Music NewslettersInternet marketing gurus have been saying for years that email - as 'push technology' - is the internet's no 1 'killer application'. This is just a way of saying just how powerful a tool email is, and everyone (and their dog) is now avidly collecting email addresses of clients, contacts, friends, etc. to keep in touch. A regular (weekly, monthly, in some cases even daily) update by email reminds everyone that you exist, and (if you have good and interesting content) will keep those on your list waiting for more ... or at least that's the theory. It occurred to me recently that there's no central point for classical music newsletters. Jason Greshes' excellent Classical Music Email List Directory has long been the central point of reference for classical music discussion lists - a slightly different phenomenon, but (and please correct me if I'm wrong), there's no directory of all the classical music email newsletters sent out by orchestras, agencies, music magazines, composers, performers and others. Until now. So here's a page which is an attempt to build a list of these. You're seeing this in its very early stages - I'm making no pretence that this is in any way comprehensive - but given time, it could become useful. If you subscribe to all the services listed below (and on subsequent pages), you should receive a regular flow of high quality information from various sources. I'm attempting to sample all these newsletters, but they haven't all arrived yet, and I'll update the details as and when. If you're worried about the increase in incoming emails, try setting up a separate email address for these. I hope you enjoy these newsletters as much as I am. Oh, and if you know of other newsletters not mentioned here, please let us know, and help to make this page a better and more complete resource.
