<<  -- 3 --  Adrian Williams    MEMORABLE & TREASURABLE

-------------------------------

In fact I have to say by the end of hymns 13 and 14 (two versions of the same hymn Faithful Cross! Above all other) in total more than 20 minutes, glorious though they are in the Pange Lingua plainchant and the alternative tune Picardy, I was longing for just one more old favourite instead of occasional plainchant and responses.

Maybe just one of those, number 11, the 'simpler setting of the reproaches' [listen -- track 11, 0:00-1:00] ought to have been allocated to 'the other church' in Langham Place...! I jest of course and having said all that I love this recording and congratulate Harry Bramma and his perfect and sympathetic organist Andrew Arthur, (director of music and assistant organist at All Saints respectively, incidentally) and the choir on a memorable and treasurable disc.
