Transcriptions of known slow and passionate melodies for the cello [listen -- track 8, 0:00-1:14] in matching mood makes for a collection that catches both eyes and hearts wherever music-loving sentimentalists abide. And undoubtedly others besides.

The cello playing here is close to the mood but the piano accompaniment has less refinement, which sadly is a slight blemish to the undertaking. John Reed's artistry deserves better. The recording quality is quite acceptable.
