Plácido Domingo

Public adulation has certainly helped Plácido Domingo, yet tends to do a disservice to fine singers when it becomes excessive. He was born in Madrid on 21 January 1941. He studied at the Mexico City University and sang at the New York City Opera, and later at the Met. His career steadily rose as his fine tenor voice was heard in Italian opera's celebrated roles. He then became a super star in the eyes of his public.
