English organist, transcriber and composer George William Henry Faulkes was born in Liverpool on 4 November 1863 and died in the same city on 25 January 1933. Most of his working life was also spent in Liverpool, where he was organist at various churches, including at St John the Baptist in Tuebrook from 1882 until 1886.
