Jill Bowen Gardner

American soprano Jill Gardner was born on 11 March 1967. She studied at Centenary College, Louisiana and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She was a member of the Young American Artist Program at Glimmerglass Opera in 2005 and 2006, where she created the role of Madame Loiseau in Stephen Hartke's The Greater Good (recorded on Naxos). Among the companies she appears with are Washington National Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Opera Carolina, Arizona Opera, Hawaii Opera Theater, Opera Grand Rapids, Piedmont Opera and Tri-Cities Opera. Jill Gardner is also active on the concert stage, recently performing the Brahms and Verdi Requiems, Beethoven's Choral Symphony and Mass in C, and Vaughan Williams' Serenade to Music.
