Susan Hampton

Susan Hampton was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and began her musical education there. She studied piano and added violin a few years later. When it came time to go to college, she moved to Los Angeles. There, she attended the University of Southern California, from which she holds both bachelors and masters degrees.

She taught high school in the Los Angeles area for over a decade and has sung solos in many area churches.  Since 2007, she has devoted her time to writing on classical vocal music and painting watercolor landscapes. She lives with her two operatically inclined cats, Figaro and Siegfried.

(Susan Hampton was a pseudonym used by American writer Maria Nockin.)
