British soprano Elisabeth Meister was born in Bristol and studied in London at the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She sang in the choruses at Glyndebourne Festival Opera and Welsh National Opera before continuing her vocal development with Dennis O'Neill at the Cardiff International Academy of Voice. She currently studies with Paul Farrington and Andrew Watts.
She is a former member of the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme and her Covent Garden roles include Pale Lady (The Gambler), Fox (The Cunning Little Vixen), High Priestess (Aida), Costanza (L'isola Disabitata), First Lady (Die Zauberflöte) and Dama (Macbeth). She has also worked for English Touring Opera, Amici Opera, Opera Barga (Tuscany), Lyric Opera of Chicago and Teatro Municipal de Santiago (Chile), and is also a well-established concert artist in the British Isles.
