Hieronymus Praetorius
German composer Hieronymus Praetorius - son (and pupil) of Jacob, but unrelated to the better known Michael Praetorius - was born 10 August 1560 in Hamburg, where he lived his life, succeeding his father as organist of the Church of St Jacobi and St Gurtrud in 1586, and died on 27 January 1629. He is known for his polychoral music in the Venetian style.
