Konrad Ragossnig

Austrian guitarist and lutenist Konrad Ragossnig was born in Klagenfurt on 6 May 1932. He studied in Vienna with Karl Scheit and won first prize in the 1961 Concours International de Guitare in Paris.

His concert tours took him to many countries, and he played at various festivals including those in Ann Arbor, Ansbach, Berlin, Hohenems/Feldkirch, Luxembourg, Osaka, Ossiach, Paris, Salzburg, Schwetzingen and Vienna. He also made many radio and TV appearances, and made more than sixty recordings.

He taught in Basel, Vienna and Zurich, and edited several books on guitar music.

He died in Antwerp on New Year's Day 2018, aged eighty-five.
