Kresimir Sipusch

Yugoslav composer and conductor Kresimir Sipusch was born in Zagreb on 26 June 1930. He studied composition with Stjepan Sulek at the Zagreb Music Academy and conducting with Igor Markevič.

He was conductor of the Zagreb Radio Orchestra from from 1968 until 1974. He also lived and worked in both France (from 1964 until 1972, where he was principal conductor of the Symphony Orchestra of Cannes) and Norway (from the mid-1970s, where he was artistic director of the State Opera School fro m 1976 until 1996).

His wife was the soprano Guri Egge, daughter of composer Klaus Egge, and Sipusch recorded Egge's cello concerto.

He died on 23 September 2014.
