UK honours
2003 new year honours awarded by the UK's Queen Elizabeth to classical musicians include those to Edinburgh Festival director Brian John McMaster (Knight's Batchelor), conductor Jane Glover (CBE), bass-baritone Bryn Terfel (CBE) and violin maker Wilfred Gordon Saunders (MBE).
