Fampas plays Fampas

Released in May 2005 on the Italian classical label AULIA (AA69001), guitarist Eva Fampas' recording is dedicated to the music of her father, Dimitri Fampas (1921-1996), the guitarist, composer and academic who influenced the musical life of Greece in the 20th century and left his mark on the popularity of guitar playing in the country.

Known mainly as the composer of his lively Greek dances, Dimitri Fampas is featured here with a collection of his works for solo guitar: preludes, dances, concert studies, suites. His music is full of beautiful melodies and lively rhythms, enriched with the influences of Greek traditional elements.
