Julian Trevelyan
At the Long Piano Contest, which ran from 22 until 27 October 2015 in Paris, sixteen-year-old British pianist Julian Trevelyan has won both second prize and the Prince Albert II of Monaco special prize for best concerto interpretation. A first prize was not awarded. The other prizewinners are Kaoru Jitsukawa (age twenty-six, from Japan, third prize, SACEM prize and Prize of the association of friends of the contest), Joo Hyeon Park (age twenty-seven, from South Korea, Fourth Prize), Madoka Fukami (age twenty-seven, from Japan, Fifth Prize and Prize of the Ravel Foundation), and Daria Kiseleva (age twenty-six, from Russia, Sixth Prize). The competition is run by Fondation Long-Thibaud Crespin, which runs piano, violin and singing contests. The piano contest is named after Marguerite Long (1874-1966), who created the competition in 1943 with her friend Jacques Thibaud.
