not so pleasant Christmas surprise
For Christmas this year, we certainly got a surprise: after fourteen years with the company, my husband was 'let go' -- no warning, nothing. Yes, he got a 'separation package', which includes five additional months of full salary (and insurance benefits), which will be metered out at two week intervals, but I have to say I am still bummed about the whole thing. Concerned about job security, my husband spoke with his boss twice in the last six months to inquire if he should be looking for another job, only to be told not to worry....
