Andris Nelsons conducts the
City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra,

Rimsky-Korsakov may have tried to edit out some of the wildness of Musorgsky's Night on Bare mountain, but the CBSO and conductor Andris Nelsons were clearly having none of it (Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham, UK, 4 February 2010). This was as fiercely black an account as I've heard; they even made something magical of the quiet ending which can sometimes be a bit of an anti-climax.
