Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite No 1 is the kind of piece it's easy to take for granted. But the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and music director Andrew Litton made even 'Morning Mood' sound newly-minted (Assembly Rooms, Derby, UK, 24 March 2010). Their impassioned account of 'Åse's Death' would probably sound over the top in the theatre, but as a concert performance it was compelling...
