Helen Cha, born in Shanghai, studied in Hong Kong and the USA. Her lunch-time recital (Derby Cathedral, Derby, UK, 16 April 2010) opened with Sun Rising by Derby composer John Mackenzie, which makes very effective, impressionistic use of simple materials.
J S Bach's Toccata in D minor, BWV 913, was particularly notable for the tight rhythmic control of the two fugues while not leaving a hard-driven impression...
