Daniel Hyde at the organ of Derby Cathedral,

Daniel Hyde, Informator Choristarum at Magdalen College, Oxford, got his recital [28 July 2010] off to an imposing start with Parry's Fantasia and Fugue in G, an evident homage to J S Bach. The performance was particularly notable for the vitality of the playing in the Fugue.

John Ireland's Vilanella was a charming intermezzo before the knotty canonic textures of J S Bach's Chorale Variations on 'Von Himmel Hoch'...
