Inventive Partnerships Music by Justin Rubin - heard by PATRIC STANDFORD '... much attractive music ...'

Striking up a close musical friendship with Dr Jefferson Campbell, well known bassoon soloist and faculty member at the University of Minnesota Duluth, has been such an inspiration to thirty-eight-year old New York composer Justin Rubin that he was able, in 2005, to emerge from what he describes as a 'creative endpoint' into prolific production -- and in particular, prolific bassoon production.

There is no doubt that the performances on this disc are of a very high quality, and the inventive partnerships for the solo instrument prove intriguing and comfortably accessible.
