Nicola Benedetti and the
European Union Chamber Orchestra,

Violinist Nicola Benedetti made her second appearance at Derby's Assembly Rooms with the European Union Chamber Orchestra (Derby, UK, 23 January 2011) in a sprightly account of Vivaldi's The Four Seasons. With both soloist and orchestra sparing in their use of vibrato it was a performance full of delights. The birdsong in Spring had real character, while rhythmic panache and a fine sense of tension made for an exhilarating Summer...
