'For a long time I made the decision of starting with classical period composers like Mozart and Beethoven, then featuring Chopin, French music or modern music like Bartók in the second half. In my younger career, it was the 'in thing' to do this, but as I became older I was freer in my choice. Of course, sometimes I was asked to play music by certain composers.'
