MN: What do you have coming up?

VG: I'll be singing Orsini in Minnesota Opera's Lucrezia Borgia and Isabella in the Santiago, Chile, L'Italiana before returning to the Paris Opera for the same role in September and the beginning of October. Then I go back to the United States to record the songs of Pauline Viardot and to sing La Cenerentola in Dallas in December.

My recording of Alessandro Scarlatti's oratorio La Santissima Trinita, with Europa Galante under Fabio Biondi, for Virgin Veritas will be available in Europe after 1 June and in the US after 15 June . Vivaldi's Il Bajazet will be released by the same label some time in the fall.

MN: Thank you so very much for your time.

VG: It was really fun taking to you. I enjoy doing interviews because they enable me to look at things from a different perspective. It's good to take a step back and say, 'Wow, what did I learn from that experience?' It's interesting to do.

MN: I learned a great deal from you, too.
