Now in its eighth season, the SCA continues to honor its mission of discovering performers as well as composers: 'Interested performers have always managed to find us, and we've found them', says Romig, 'Many of [them] have come to us by way of the "friend-of-a-friend" method. We have never held auditions.'

Over recent years, the SCA has branched out to include several groundbreaking projects, placing special emphasis on educational outreach. SCA performers and composers have been invited to conduct demonstrations and interactive discussions at numerous colleges and conservatories across the United States.

Taylor says this is something he would like the SCA to further explore: 'This has afforded the members of the group -- composers and performers alike -- an opportunity to share their insights, experiences, and enthusiasm for new music with hundreds of young students. I would like to see our involvement in educational outreach continue to grow. In addition, we are planning to release an SCA recording within the next year or two.'
