Keeping to the alphabetical order in which they're placed in the book, then, here we go!

Herbert Blomstedt was, at the time, music director of the San Francisco Symphony, with occasional opportunities to guest conduct. Now, he's Conductor Laureate after a ten year tenure, there, and while still guesting here and there, is now in Leipzig with the Gewandhaus.

Catherine Comet was music director of both the American Symphony and the Grand Rapids (MI) Symphony. Now retired, she lives in Wyoming with her husband.

Dennis Russell Davies was then in charge of the St Paul Chamber Orchestra, but is now music director of the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, (a post he has held since 2002), amd is currently chief conductor of Germany's Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra and a regular guest conductor in Berlin, Munich and elsewhere on the continent.

Christoph von Dohnányi was in Cleveland until 2002. In 2004 he became the Chief Conductor of the NDR Symphony Orchestra in Hamburg. He guest conducts internationally in opera and symphonic works.

Charles Dutoit was Artistic Director of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra from 1977 to 2002, and his contract with Saratoga Performing Arts Center runs through 2008. In July, 2005, M Dutoit, who has expressed a passion for music education, became founding musical director for the new Canton International Summer Music Academy, opening as the first-ever professional summer music academy in Foshan, China.
