Patricia Risley was a lovely Miranda who sang her lyrical part with shimmering sounds and charmed everyone in the hall. Toby Spence and Gwynne Howell also interpreted the roles of Ferdinand and Gonzalo at Covent Garden. In Santa Fe, Spence imbued his lines with emotional directness and clear diction, while Howell commanded the stage with his charisma.

William Ferguson was an ugly and villainous Caliban. Wilbur Pauley and David Hansen were amusing as the Butler and the Jester, while Derek Taylor was a capable Antonio. Chris Merrit and Keith Phares were properly elegant as the king and his brother.
