Teatro Lirico D'Europa presented Lucia di Lammermoor at the Garde theatre in New London Connecticut, USA, on 26 October 2006 with a sterling cast that included singers from Bulgaria, Ukraine, Russia and the US. The touring company's sets were minimal but effective and their costumes were richly detailed renditions of seventeenth century garb that added visual impact to the performance. General Manager Giorgio Lalov's staging was realistic and told the story well.

Her voice is large and silvery, her coloratura accurate and even her highest notes had an attractive color to them. She can act, too, as she proved during the Mad Scene where she was a frightening apparition who had taken vengeance on one of her oppressors. Tenor Igor Borko was a warm voiced Edgardo and his sound blended well with that of Yudina. He did some truly fine singing in the final scene of the opera.
