Mezzo-soprano Suzanna Guzman is always a joy to see and hear. She combined dark vocal splendor with dramatic coherence as Luisa's companion, Mariana. As the young lover, Javier, Antonio Gandia proved to be a competent actor but was somewhat less impressive vocally. Elena de la Merced, the Duchess Carolina, gave evidence of her character's noble breeding with elegance of movement and the impression of subjugated passion in her singing.

Daniel Montenegro was an energetic Aníbal and Camille Zamora a creamy voiced Rosita. 2006 Operalia winner, David Lomelì, was an outstanding and sonorous Savoyard. It is interesting to note that one of the supernumeraries was Nicole Domingo, the tenor's five-year-old granddaughter.
