Sergiu Comissiona

The Romanian conductor Sergiu Comissiona was born on 16 June 1928 in Bucharest. He studied and conducted in Europe, then Israel and the Ulster Orchestra before moving across the Atlantic to the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in 1969. He was the music advisor and principal conductor for the American Symphony Orchestra from 1979. He died in Oklahoma City on 5 March 2005.
