Hans Knappertsbusch

Hans Knappertsbusch, the German conductor, was born in Elberfeld on 12 March 1888 and died in Munich on 26 October 1965. His authority as a supreme Wagnerian conductor was established in Europe, where most of his time was spent. He also conducted the Richard Strauss operas.
