Johannes Kuhnau

Born 6 April 1660, died 5 June 1722, Bohemian organist and composer Johannes Kuhnau was Johann Sebastian Bach's immediate predecessor at St Thomas Leipzig in 1684. He was essentially a keyboard composer who was amongst the first to write sonatas as distinct from suites.
