Valentin Silvestrov

Ukrainian pianist and composer Valentin Silvestrov was born in Kiev on 30 September 1937. He studied at the Kiev Evening Music School and at the Kiev Conservatory, and is known for his post-modernist music, which includes symphonies, poems for piano and orchestra, chamber, instrumental and vocal music.
