Monica Sinclair

British contralto Monica Sinclair died in London on 7 May 2002, aged 77.

Born in Somerset on 23 March 1925, she studied at London's Royal Academy of Music, and her career included roles in the first performances of Pilgrim's Progrss by Vaughan Williams, Britten's Gloriana, Walton's Troilus and Cressida and Tippett's The Midsummer Marriage.
