Ted Perry
Ted Perry, the founder and Managing Director of Hyperion Records Ltd died of lung cancer in a London hospital on 9 February 2003, aged 71. After working for record companies in Australia and the UK, Perry founded Hyperion Records in 1980. The company's first big success was of music by Hildegard von Bingen, recorded in 1981, and the company has gone on to become one of the UK's best known independent labels, producing about eighty CDs a year, and with a catalogue containing about a thousand discs.
