Mary Potts

Paul Thwaites is currently researching the life of the Cambridge-based harpsichordist Mary Potts (1905-1982). As well as playing music and teaching, she also used to dance in an Elizabethan group, performing in period costume. Apart from a short obituary in The Times, there has never been any tribute to or celebration of the life of this extraordinary lady.

Paul would like to hear from anyone who knew her, or has any memorabilia relating to her: concert programmes, reviews of her performances, letters, old photos and any recordings or films in which she took part. Paul can be contacted at Postbus 15770, 1001 NG Amsterdam, The Netherlands, phone +31 020 320 5901, fax +31 020 320 5902, or by email: paul AT tentraining DOT com
