Gustavo Dudamel and the
Los Angeles Philharmonic,

In 2009, the Los Angeles Philharmonic acquired the much lauded Venezuelan conductor, Gustavo Dudamel, as its music director. Since then, much to my shame, I was never able to see him conduct, until that changed over this holiday period when I was treated to the LA Philharmonic New Year's Eve concert via PBS on 29 December 2010.

Maestro Dudamel collaborated with renowned coloratura tenor Juan Diego Flores on a program that combined Bel Canto standards by Rossini, Donizetti, and Verdi with Latin American classical music...
