After early musical training, Lee Actor switched to a successful career in computer software. He didn't return to music until 2001 as he neared his fifties. Making up for lost time, he has since produced numerous works including symphonies, concertos and tone poems. Since Actor has a gift for melody, orchestration and driving rhythms, his earlier efforts are enjoyable even when thematic development could have been more effective. Recent recordings document that attractive melodies and rhythms remain as mechanics improve, and the works here, written since 2007, are consistently rewarding...
