Vassily Primakov plays Rachmaninov -
recommended by BARBARA SEALOCK'... a triumph in more ways than one.'

This recording of Rachmaninov Preludes and other works on Bridge Records says as much about Vassily Primakov's high regard for the composer as his own interpretive genius.
It is a triumph in more ways than one.
Recorded on a Bechstein concert grand, it sets a high bar for fine attunement, and confirms the fact that Primakov, a champion of Russian Romanticism, is an artist of virtuosic intelligence whose meteoric career continues to rise.
Traversing the Preludes, the Corelli Variations, and the Elegie in E flat minor, Op 3 No 1, the production is a work of marvelous color, admirable articulation, poetry, and soul-plumbing emotion...
