A mainly classical programme
from Derby Concert Orchestra,

Derby Concert Orchestra has established a regular pattern of beginning each season with a mainly classical-period programme in St Peter's Church in the Derby suburb of Littleover (Derby, UK, 15 October 2011).

This year's opener was a nicely imaginative sequence, too, beginning with Mozart's Symphony No 35, in a performance full of spirit, elegance and, in the finale, the bustling energy of comic opera.

Derby-born cellist Richard Jenkinson joined the orchestra for the evening's wild card, Dohnányi's Konzertstück...
