Truly Dexterous

Music for solo
violin and viola -

'... an urbane, ear-catching sound.'

Going Solo - unaccompanied works for violin and viola. Stephanie Sant'Ambrogio. © 2011 MSR Classics

For eight seasons Stephanie Sant'Ambrogio was a member of the Cleveland Orchestra (under Christoph von Dohnányi), for thirteen years concertmaster of the San Antonio Symphony and founder/artistic director of the Cactus Pear Music Festival (1996). She is now Assistant Professor of Violin and Viola and Director of the Orchestral Career Studies graduate program at the University of Nevada, Reno, where she also plays violin in the Argenta Trio (2007-2011) along with cellist Dmitri Atapine and pianist Jim Winn.

In some respects this ex Cleveland Orchestra second violin and Reno orchestra member is somewhat of a minnow midst the marlins.

There's no doubting willowy SSA is a truly dexterous second tier string player, with an urbane, ear-catching sound...
