The raison d'être of the Ensemble Liaison is to showcase a diversity of musical partnerships and explore eclectic repertoire. With this is mind their concerts have included music of Chicago-born Robert Muzcynski (1929-2010), Mike Mower (born 1958 in Bath, England), Bruch, Poulenc, Gershwin, Bozidar 'Boki' Milosevic (born in Serbia in 1931), Ástor Piazzolla, Scott Joplin, Béla Kovács (born at Tatabánya, Hungary, in 1937) and British composer Joseph Horovitz (born in Vienna in 1926).

EL formed in 2006 and were named Ensemble in Residence at Monash University in 2010. The group's debut concert for ABC Classic FM featured in 'The best of Sunday Live 2006'

They were invited to move their 2007 concert series with collaborating musicians into the stunning Elisabeth Murdoch Hall at the Melbourne Recital Centre...
