'Peter Grimes' live from Milan in HD,

On 24 May 2012, the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Italy, transmitted Benjamin Britten's opera Peter Grimes live in high definition to theaters around the world. I saw the performance at the Harkins Theater in North Scottsdale, Arizona. Surprisingly, Britten became interested in George Crabbe's poem The Borough while visiting Escondido, California, in 1941. Escondido is only a few hundred miles west of Scottsdale...
