Sagra Musicale Umbra 2012

 

The Sagra Musicale Umbra is the most ancient of Italian music festivals. It was founded in 1937, suspended 1939-46 because of World War II, and this year celebrated its sixty seventh edition (7-15 September 2012). The main objectives and features of the Sagra (an old Italian term to mean 'Feast') have been previously summarized (see To the Glory of God, 14 September 2011 and Pilgrimages of the Soul, 26 September 2010). It's a real feast involving all the main historical cities of Umbria, a small region (with population of 800,000) in central Italy, full of important historical locations, such as Assisi...
