'... spectacular and life enhancing ...'

Amazing Grace - Hymns of Faith and Praise. William Neil. John Jay Hopkins memorial organ. © 2008 MSR Classics

This is truly a marvelous listen all round with the at times resounding sound of the organ in loud hymns such as My Country, Tis of Thee or A Mighty Fortress is our God onto the peaceful reflection of Spirit of God, Descend upon my Heart and A Morning Dawns. William Neil plays the sixty pieces spread over two well-filled discs with panache and inventivity -- his knowledge of the organ's range and vision is truly all-encompassing.

The hymns are split into several sections which aids their grouping and one can obviously listen to them at the appropriate times of the year...
