the Eblana String Trio

For their second visit to Derby Chamber Music (Multi-Faith Centre, Derby University, Derby UK, 15 March 2013), the Eblana String Trio brought with them pianist Andrew Dunlop for two classics of Viennese chamber music.
A bold, assertive opening to Mozart's E flat Piano Quartet, K493, led to some effervescent playing as the music proceeded. Restraint at the start of the second movement effectively opened up into something more intense and searching, while the Haydnesque chirps in the finale brought out the players' fun-loving side...
