Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra

The last time we heard Mahler's Sixth Symphony at the Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham, it was paired with a Mozart violin concerto. So it was on this occasion (20 October 2013) -- No 3 then, No 5 now.

Norwegian violinist Henning Kraggerud was the soloist, with the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra and conductor Stéphane Denève, in one of the fastest performances I've heard, but though invigoratingly brisk there was no sense of rush...
