Viennese classics from the Derby Concert Orchestra,

The art of concert programming is as much about well-chosen and well-placed contrasts as anything else. Two Delius miniatures made a very effective interlude in Derby Concert Orchestra's programme of Viennese classics, like a splash of red in a predominantly green picture (St Peter's Church, Littleover, Derby, UK, 19 October 2013).

One-time principal bassoonist Andrew Hubbard conducted the first half, opening with a bubbling account of the overture to Mozart's Così fan tutte...
