Undoubtedly Dietrich Buxtehude's fame is almost reserved solely for his huge organ output, not surprisingly as he was one of the finest organ players of his time.  Indeed J S Bach is said to have walked a very long journey to hear him perform.  But this Danish-German composer also has a substantial amount of sacred choral works that compare very favourably with those of his contemporaries...
