Amy Porter, from Delaware, is a Juilliard graduate (a student of Samuel Baron and Jeanne Baxtresser), a fellow at Tanglewood and the Mozarteum Summer Academy in Salzburg. For eight years she was associate principal flute with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and is now Professor of Flute at the University of Michigan School of Music.

She has performed across the United States, Japan and Taiwan. She is also founder of the workshop Amy Porter's Anatomy of Sound with Professor of Theatre (movement) Jerald Schwiebert...
